Holiday in a Cup

Holiday in a Cup

I quit drinking coffee almost two years ago. At the time, I had to have my latté every morning and often a second in the afternoon. If I was at a restaurant or hotel for breakfast where the coffee was free flowing I could polish off 3-4 cups in a sitting.

The holiday season was always the worst. I was a sucker for the Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Gingerbread Lattes, Egg Nog Lattes etc. etc. etc.

However, knowing coffee is very acidic, dehydrating and often grown with chemicals it had to go. There was no longer room for it in my clean lifestyle.

These days I do not miss coffee at all. Looking back it was really the warm, comforting sensation I got from drinking it I loved. The caffeine was just a pleasant ( or unpleasant) side effect.

Still, this time of year there is a small part of me that misses those fancy holiday lattés.

When I discovered this amazing Gingerbread Spice Tea I was thrilled. A hot cup of this tea with a little Almond Milk and a dash on cinnamon on top is truly better than any specialty coffee drink I ever had.  You can even steep it in hot Almond Milk instead of water for a taste that is truly indulgent.

I have several boxes of this in my pantry now and plan to enjoy it all winter long!
