A Week of Ideas to Entertain Your Kids

A Week of Ideas to Entertain Your Kids

Wow. How are you? My how the world has changed. Like everyone else I am currently at home doing my part to help curb this virus. I have been homeschooling the girls, cooking, cleaning and well.. .everything. It’s alot. Alot. I’m not going to lie. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I am struggling emotionally right now. However, having two little kids I really can’t think about myself too much. I have been trying to make each day happy and special for them and come up with easy activities to keep them entertained. I am planning to share a weeks worth of ideas every week until this is over! Here we go!

Monday: Pattern Game

Portia has been loving the simple games I make for her each day (well really I make them at 11:30 at night). This pattern matching game is super easy to make. All you need are colored dot stickers, a piece of paper, a pen and a variety of small colored objects!

Tuesday: Have a (safe, distanced) Picnic

We have been going up to our buildings roof everyday to have a lunch picnic. Our building is small and mostly empty now so it feels very safe to me and very fun for the girls. If you have a terrace, backyard, any small patch of outdoor space I highly recommend eating outside! If you can’t eat outside try an indoor picnic on the floor!

Wednesday: Make a House for Their Friends

The girls got new stuffed bunnies for Easter and immediately wanted to make cozy homes for them to “nap” in. All it take is a shoe box and whatever small pieces of fabric you have at home. This activity led to a long stretch of imaginative play where they put their new friends down for a nap!

Thursday: Bake a One Pan Cake

With four people at home all day the dishes really pile up and I am doing everything in my power to keep them under control! This one pan cake is easy to make, the kids can really get involved, and doens’t create a ton of dirty dishes!
